* Participant must be an institutional or an individual member of ACUUS in 2018 and a confirmation issued by the ACUUS secretariat is required to be eligible for the member rate. The registration fee will be charged in Hong Kong Dollars. US Dollars are for reference only.

Cancellation Policy

  • Participation (either as participants with or without oral/poster contributions or as accompanying persons) must be cancelled by writing directly to the Organisers of ACUUS 2018 (via e-mail to reg@acuus2018.hk). If the Organisers of ACUUS 2018 receive your written cancellation notice on or before 15 Oct 2018, the participant will receive a full refund of the registration fee or paid fees (whichever is higher) less an administrative charge of 20% of the paid fees. After 15 Oct 2018, no cancellation is acceptable and no refund is payable.

Terms and Conditions

  • Registration for ACUUS 2018 must be made via the online registration form: http://www.acuus2018.hk/Registration.html.
  • The registration is binding and the general terms and conditions are hereby accepted by the participant. After having registered to ACUUS 2018 and paid the necessary registration fees, the participant will be provided an electronic receipt by the ACUUS 2018 Secretariat.
  • The conference registration fees should be paid by the participant immediately upon registration.  Authors of accepted abstract must pay not later than 1 June 2018. 
  • Attendance at the conference is allowed only upon receipt of payment from the participant. Should the conference registration fee not be paid via internet (i.e.ACUUS 2018 website) or credited to the HKIE Geotechnical Division’s bank account, prior to the conference opening, an on-site payment will need to be made by credit card or cash payment.  This requirement is also applicable to on-site registrations.
  • The participant recognizes and accepts that the Organisers of ACUUS 2018 collect, process and store personal data exclusively for processing registration to ACUUS 2018 as well as for general preparation work for an ACUUS conference.  It may be necessary to transfer your personal data to the organisers of another ACUUS conference. In this regard, you may object to such use at any time via email to reg@acuus2018.hk.
  • By submitting a contribution to ACUUS 2018, the author confirms that he or she has transferred the copyright of all contents (e.g. texts, pictures) of his/her abstract, manuscript and presentation to the Organisers of ACUUS 2018. In case of copyright infringement, the author shall indemnify the Organisers of ACUUS 2018 against any liability.
  • The Organisers of ACUUS 2018 exclude liability for any programme changes or cancellations. Should the conference need to be cancelled completely, conference registration fees already paid will be refunded. The correctness of the information stated in the ACUUS 2018 website and within the programme announcements is not warranted. The relevant laws of Hong Kong apply; and the place of jurisdiction is Hong Kong.
